Two Day Weddings

Two Day Weddings – What Are They?

One of the hardest parts of getting married is waking up the morning after and realising that it is all over. Months, maybe even years of planning, and its over in a flash. A million brides a year can be heard to say “It went too quickly” or “I wish I could do it all over again”. Whilst doing it all over again may be a tad extravagant, Country House Weddings have created a Two Day Wedding Packages as a simple solution to make that perfect day last just a little bit longer! After all, goodbye always seems to come too soon for us too!

If one day is simply not enough, then why not indulge yourselves with the sumptuous surroundings of your chosen venue for two? Arrive the day before in a relaxed and leisurely manner and settle yourselves in. If the two families have not met previously, what a great opportunity for a ‘getting to know you’ drinks reception! Exchange pleasantries in a relaxed and informal manner and become better acquainted on the lawn in the sunshine or in front of a roaring log fire. Whatever the season, the setting is always perfect!

Two options for dinner, a formal sit down meal being one. Are you the ‘candlelit supper’ type? Perhaps you could extend this to be a rehearsal dinner complete with speeches and black tie? Any excuse to dress up! Maybe something more informal is your style. A buffet style dinner will encourage your guests to mingle more freely or in the summertime, a BBQ or hog roast would go down a treat with your guests.

After dinner you are then free to entertain yourselves as you see fit. A themed party, a murder mystery game or a simple game of scrabble. The bar is open, the house is lit and the staff are on hand to pamper you as necessary!

All of our venues offer overnight accommodation. All bedrooms are fit for King’s and Queen’s and in the past have played host to royal visitors. The bridal suites are fitted with Jacuzzi baths and all the bedrooms in all four houses have views to die for. A comfortable night stay is definitely on the cards for all. Tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water are available as standard. Make sure you don’t break with tradition – the Groom must have a separate room from the Bride!

Wake up on the morning of the wedding feeling revived and refreshed and ready for action. A hefty full English breakfast awaits those that desire, or for those who would prefer a lighter option croissants, cereals and other continental breakfast options. Our ladies may prefer to have breakfast served in the bridal suite so the pampering can begin early! Our beauticians are always available to drop in for any treatments you and your ladies may require.

Now gents, how are you going to occupy yourselves in the morning? Will it be the morning papers and plenty of coffee? For the more outdoorsy types, how about a spot of clay pigeon shooting or archery? All four of our venues are able to arrange a number of different sporting activities to keep you busy!

Your wedding day guests will start to arrive from midday and will be bowled over by the sheer size and elegance of our venues! You and your night before guests will be so at home by now this will rub off on your day guests and they too will immediately feel at home. More mingling and general chit chat as the nerves and anticipation start to creep in…. the ceremony is fast approaching! You may choose to marry in our one of our licensed indoor areas, all four venues offer a choice. The more modern option is to be wed outdoors in the grounds and again all four of our venues can accommodate an outdoor ceremony (weather permitting!). If a church is more to your taste then our venues would be happy to advise you of local churches nearby to the venues.

After the ceremony everyone can relax- you are now Mr and Mrs! A selection of welcome drinks and canapes are made available to your guests and served from silver trays. There are a wealth of fabulous photograph opportunities at all four venues and creating a magical and memorable album will not be hard!

The three course wedding breakfast is served and accompanied by a selection of house wines. Finished off with tea, coffee and handmade petit fours. We pride ourselves on the quality of food and meal service standard. You will not be disappointed. Following the meal a glass of sparkling wine is provided to each guest so they can toast the bride and groom during the speeches. Hot tip of the moment for our brides, do try and proof read the best man’s speech before the day!

If you thought all this was too good to be true, an evening jam packed with dancing and merriment stretches out ahead of you. Our resident DJ’s are on hand to play your favourite tunes and make sure you all stay on your feet. As the venue is exclusively yours for the day, your family and friends are welcome to enjoy the entire house and grounds at their leisure.

Now rest those weary feet in the luxury of our overnight accommodation once more and dream sweet dreams of the memories that you will cherish forever. Breakfast is available again in the morning and gives you the opportunity to all get together one last time to reminisce about the day before. Exchange funny tales of late night antics and start to get excited about the honeymoon that is to come.

Parting is such sweet sorrow but at least you can safely say you have made the most of your special day(s)!
