With Bridgerton back on our screens this January, couples are once again dreaming of wedding days with dancing in the ballroom and champagne on the lawns. If you love the idea of hosting your own Regency-inspired wedding celebration, we can make your Bridgerton dreams come true.

Affianced ladies and gentlemen of the ton, may we present to you the wedding venues of choice for the 2026 season?

Why Bridgerton Is A Popular Theme For Weddings

The much-loved Netflix period drama centres around the eight siblings from an aristocratic family and their search for love and marriage during the annual social season. These themes along with the elegant aesthetic of the Regency period naturally make Bridgerton an inspirational source for wedding ideas.

Some couples may want to recreate Penelope and Colin’s grand wedding as closely as possible, while others simply borrow aspects of Regency style such as a string quartet or an empire line dress.

Country House Weddings manager Catherine from Gosfield Hall feels that the show’s influence is clear.

We’ve seen the “Bridgerton Effect” on our weddings ever since season one in 2020 – and we love how this look complements the architecture of our house.

Bridgerton-Inspired Wedding Venues

Like the Netflix hit itself, Bridgerton-inspired wedding venue décor comes from the “Regencycore” aesthetic a modern interpretation of the period. Combining original Regency architecture and period styling with contemporary comforts, our country houses are perfect venues for couples who want this look.

Painstakingly restored and renovated, our historic country house wedding venues make it easy to host your own Bridgerton wedding.

Elegant aisles

Follow in the footsteps of Penelope or Daphne and walk up the aisle to meet your partner. Clearwell Castle, our impossibly romantic Regency castle in the Forest of Dean, features a church-like ballroom with a 75-foot aisle. It looks absolutely beautiful dressed with white flowers and candles.

Appropriately, the long gallery in Gosfield Hall is named after Queen Charlotte! This oak-panelled room is a wonderful place to make an entrance. The Orangery at St Audries Park may be Victorian, but still has the light and airy feel that Georgians loved. If you like the idea of a civil ceremony in a traditional setting, the former chapel at Bourton Hall ticks all the boxes.

Beautiful ballrooms

What could be more Bridgerton than an ornate ballroom, lit by chandeliers and filled with the sound of music and chatter? A former royal palace, Gosfield Hall boasts the Marquis of Buckingham’s Ballroom, a luxurious space for your wedding reception.

Clearwell Castle also has a period ballroom which is used for both ceremonies and celebrations, with the Great Hall providing a photogenic backdrop for that special first dance. The arches and sweeping staircase of the Great Hall in St Audries Park is pure Bridgerton glamour.

For a smaller but equally refined Regency setting, take a look at the Gold Room in Holmewood Hall. Georgie isn’t the only bride to tell us how she “fell in love instantly with the Gold Room” (find out more about her and Steven’s stunning ceremony in our Real Weddings blog).

Enchanting gardens

The least said about Edwina and Anthony’s wedding the better, but we did love the reception on the terrace, complete with music, draped gazebos, architectural displays of fruit and flowers, and living statues.

You can easily recreate this look and feel in the courtyards and terraces of any of our wedding venues. Each house has a menu of extra little touches to elevate your day, from garden games like croquet to Prosecco and ice cream carts. There are also outdoor ceremony options in all our country estates, including the lakeside at Clearwell Castle, the courtyard at Leez Priory and the bandstand at Holmewood Hall.

Intimate rooms

Francesca Bridgerton and John Stirling had a small wedding ceremony in the drawing room. The simplicity of the service and graceful setting make this intimate wedding one of the most moving in the show.

If you love the idea of a smaller wedding in refined surroundings, take a look at our intimate weddings package. You’ll still have the grandeur and aesthetic of a historic country estate as well as our impeccable service, but all the spaces will be scaled to suit your party. Our smaller celebrations are always simply lovely.

Personal Wedding Manager Hayden thinks there’s been an uplift in intimate ceremonies since Francesca’s wedding.

Many of our couples love the idea of a smaller celebration with just their nearest and dearest, and our elegant Regency drawing rooms are perfect for intimate weddings. Fireside weddings are popular in the winter – so cosy! – and some of our venues even have pianos, just like in Bridgerton!

Regency Wedding Ideas: Extra Touches

“Our couples are increasingly asking for Bridgerton-themed touches”, says Hannah from St Audries Park. “We recently hosted a wedding where the colour palette and floral arrangements were inspired by Bridgerton, and everything looked simply perfect in our nineteenth-century rooms.”

Strings

“I loved the music in Bridgerton because modern music on strings just sounds so beautiful”, says April, who married Dec in St Audries Park last year. Bridge Strings Quartet played as the couple, and their guests enjoyed drinks and canapes on the terrace very ton.

Flowers

From magnificent floral arches to classical urns, the flower arrangements for the Bridgerton weddings are always absolutely exquisite. White blooms capture the classic elegance of the Georgian period take a look at the décor for Daphne and Simon’s wedding. Pastel pinks, peaches and blues grace the church for Penelope and Colin’s ceremony, complementing the bride’s pale pink dress.

Table settings

Flowers play an important part in our table settings. For a Regency feel, choose traditional cottage garden blooms such as roses, cornflowers, lilac, sweet peas and peonies. Add candles and gleaming glassware, and upgrade to the Gold Package for an authentic-looking placement.

Dancing

“It’s not unheard of for couples to take ballroom dancing lessons before their first dance”, says wedding manager Simon from Clearwell Castle. “You could even take it one step further and hire a dance teacher for the evening do, and get all your guests taking turns around the room!”

What better way to recreate the colour and glamour of a Bridgerton ball than having your guests dance a quadrille around the ballroom at Gosfield or Bourton?

Bridgerton-Style Wedding Dresses & Outfits

“Regency-style wedding attire is surprisingly modern, especially for the bride”, comments Rachel from Leez Priory. “Something about the simplicity and emphasis on clean lines is very contemporary, and we’re definitely seeing more brides opting for this elegant look.”

For brides

There’s so much inspiration for Regency wedding dresses in Bridgerton, it’s hard to know where to start! The classic drapey empire line dress is flattering as well as elegant, and wonderfully floaty for a warm summer day. Wedding dresses didn’t default to white until after Queen Victoria’s marriage in 1840, so you have the whole Bridgerton palette to choose from. Accessorise with satin shoes, silky gloves and a sparkling necklace, finished with a soft updo.

For grooms

The morning suit with its tailcoat and waistcoat is the closest off-the-peg look to a Regency gentleman’s wedding suit, although a timeless dress suit has a more modern feel. Regency touches include white shirts, waistcoats and plenty of brocade. Metallic contrast buttons and a printed cravat or neck tie give a period feel without straying into cosplay territory.

For attendants

For the bridal party, the key here is colour. You can have so much fun coordinating those gorgeous Georgian colours. Powder blue, peachy pink, champagne cream, primrose yellow, pale lavender… perfection. Again, the empire line is an excellent choice that’s comfortable and flattering as well as on-theme. The groomsmen’s outfits reflect the bridegroom’s, with those subtle little period touches like buttons and brocade.

Dress code for guests

While we can’t insist that our guests hire breeches for the occasion, specifying formal attire will help recreate the graceful style of the ton. At a summer wedding, floaty pastel dresses naturally lend themselves to a Regency feel.

You can also give your guests traditional Georgian touches, such as presenting them with a nosegay (or posey) or corsage. At a summer wedding, hand-held fans bring a welcome breeze as well as adding a Regency touch April and Dec’s guests each received a fan on their way into St Audries Park Orangery.
