Pop star Perrie Edwards and footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain tied the knot on 13 June, in a lavish four-day celebration in the Algarve.

Perrie and Alex met almost ten years ago and became engaged in 2022. They share two young children, Axel and Alana. It’s been a busy time for the couple, with Little Mix star Perrie launching her solo career and ex-Arsenal and Liverpool player Alex signing for Celtic – and little Alana arrived only five months ago!.

With such a packed schedule, their four-day wedding was a chance to spend time with family and friends. The couple put their 140 guests up at a nearby luxury hotel so everyone could enjoy being together.

A whitewashed 15th-century church in the pretty village of Estoi made the perfect romantic setting for the marriage service, with Perrie describing it to British Vogue as “grand and beautiful but also intimate.” The bride wore a beautiful lace dress from Dana Harel with an elegant figure-skimming fit and a pooling train, while Alex wore a classic Tom Sweeney suit.

Afterwards, the newlyweds and guests celebrated with a meal at nearby Parrilla Natural, followed by outdoor celebrations that went on well into the night. Perrie changed into a crystal-embellished dress by Galia Lahav for the first dance, before donning her third and final outfit for the rest of the party, a waisted mini from Annie’s Ibiza worn with a pair of Louboutins.

It takes a brave band to perform at a pop star’s wedding, and Sol & The Gang rose to the occasion, even covering Little Mix songs! Perrie sang and danced with her Little Mix bandmate Leigh-Anne. Third member Jade had to leave early as she had a concert commitment elsewhere. Perrie herself was back on stage less than a week after the wedding!

Capture the fun of Perrie and Alex’s wedding

There are plenty of takeaways from this fun and fabulous celebration. Here are a few ways you could recreate the romance and pure joy of Perrie and Alex’s wedding.

An intimate church ceremony

The former Catholic chapel at Bourton Hall captures the elegant yet intimate feel of the beautiful Catholic church in Portugal. There’s a pretty parish church on the edge of the estate at St Audries Park if you want a Church of England wedding ceremony.

A multi-day celebration

It was important to this busy couple to spend plenty of time with their loved ones. Multi-day weddings are becoming more and more popular, and we love seeing how relaxed and enjoyable these special occasions are. Take a look at our multi-day weddings to find out more – and remember, we also have guest accommodation in every country house and estate.

Fun for your guests

After the ceremony, Perrie and Alex’s guests milled around and chatted, while a traditional Portuguese guitarist played in the background. Champagne and ice cream were served – just what was needed on a summer’s day. Each of our venues offers a menu of extras featuring all sorts of fun treats for your guests, such as Pimms, prosecco and ice cream carts.

A destination venue

Perrie and Alex’s guests were all accommodated in a nearby luxury hotel. You too can capture this destination feel with a country house wedding. All our estates have onsite accommodation, from luxury suites in the historic houses to cute cottages nestled in the grounds. You and your guests will also have exclusive access to the whole estate during your celebrations.

A real party

Most of the partying took place outdoors, the lovely Mediterranean courtyard beautifully lit with lanterns and string lights. Many of our couples choose to have their summer evening party outside, complete with fun extras such as hog roasts, outdoor bars and fireworks displays. And because you have the whole estate to yourselves, you can really enjoy the party.
