An Epic Love Story: Taylor and Travis Get Married in New York
They did it – and how. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got married in a summer ceremony that redefines the word “lavish”.
Ever since “Tayvis” announced their engagement last year, Swifties have been debating what the wedding will be like – and the day did not disappoint. With both celebs at home in stadiums, they chose New York’s Madison Square Garden as their wedding venue, which easily accommodated their 1,000+ guests.
Not everyone has their estimated $30 million wedding budget; but that doesn’t mean you can’t easily recreate some of the A-list couple’s ideas.
How you can Taylor your wedding
Have a twilight wedding
The wedding took place in the evening – perfect for the formal dress code. An evening wedding is a great idea during the summer, when you can take advantage of the long days while avoiding the daytime heat. Our Twilight Weddings are increasingly popular, especially if you want the evening party to play a big part in the celebrations.

Get married on a weekday
Saturday is still the most popular day of the week for a wedding; however Taylor and Travis chose to marry on a Friday. If you think your guests can make a weekday, not only will you find it easier to get your preferred date, but you’ll save money, too. Being flexible also means you might pick up a great last-minute offer.
Choose an exclusive wedding venue
The A-list couple shut down the roads around Madison Square Garden, causing a rather mixed reaction among New Yorkers. No need for queues and traffic jams at your Country House Wedding nuptials – you’ll have exclusive use of the entire estate throughout your wedding: house, gardens, grounds and driveway.
Bring the outside in
The choice of venue raised a few eyebrows: how could a stadium be transformed into a fairytale setting? Easily as it turns out, by creating a garden feel with trees, ferns and dreamy white drapes. Light fabrics and flowers bring magic to your ceremony space: take a look at the beautiful decorations at Bourton Hall, for example.
Write your own vows
Taylor and Travis wrote their own vows, and this is something many of our couples choose to do, too. The couple had their heartfelt words written down in bespoke little books – a great way of making sure you say everything you want to. Taylor also walked down the aisle to one of her own songs, “Love Story”. If you have your own composition ready, go for it!
Create customised wedding favours
Bespoke vows often leave the guests in tears – they anticipated this at the Tayvis wedding, with guests handed custom embroidered handkerchiefs! These thoughtful little touches really add to your guests’ experience, and we love seeing what our couples come up with. For summer weddings, custom fans and bespoke water bottles help to keep everyone comfortable as well as making a lovely souvenir.

Donate to charity
To celebrate their marriage, the couple donated $26 million to several charities, from food banks to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. This most-famous cat lady’s donations also included a sum to the ASPCA (the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). Not all couples want a wedding list, especially if they’ve been together for a while. Instead, ask your guests to make a donation to a charity that’s close to your hearts.
Host a Night-Before party
Around 100 of Taylor and Travis’ guests attended a special wedding rehearsal dinner the evening before. This is a lovely way of celebrating with your nearest and dearest (generally closer to ten than 100!) before the big day. We cater for Night Before parties, and we especially love our Party at Peregrine package at St Audries Park.
Go for food and drink stations
You don’t have to have a sit-down wedding breakfast. Taylor and Travis opted for individual food stalls serving a wide variety of food and drink. That’s something we can easily offer, from Pimm’s bars to hog roasts. Have a chat with one of our expert wedding planners about how you can recreate this lively approach to wedding dining.
There’ll be no Champagne problems
We have heard a rumour that the Champagne ran out. That simply never happens at a Country House Weddings celebration. Our bars are always well stocked, and our catering team will make sure you order the right amount of sparkly for the toasts.
